Oh I see how that it yea I was wondering because me and my bf will probably be there for at least 3+ years (since he’s in the military and all that) so I was just wondering how the banking works. Guess it’s just a gambling game in a way lol thanks Steve

Emily - I’m fine if $1 = ¥100+. When I came to Japan I looked at the total cost of exchanging money at the bank in the U.S. vs using the ATM machine when I got here and I chose to wait. If you don’t want to carry around money, waiting isn’t a bad idea. Yen could go up and down and that’s the risk you’d take if you waited. If you wait I suggest exchanging some dollars to yen (maybe $100) so you have some cash to get things at the airport if you need it or pay for some transportation right away in Japan.

I just checked and now it’s at 104? So what should we do really right. What would you suggest someone that’s going to go to Japan soon? Make the switch now or later when we get to Japan? thanks

Yeah but what if you have divisions on every continent? You can play one against the other by just shuffling accounts around and actually make money!
