Sushi Lunch For 1000 Yen

We found a sushi restaurant that serves fresh fish daily. Dinner costs a person no less than 3000 Yen and can easily run 5000. But lunch is a steal! For 1000 Yen you get this tray of fresh sushi, soup, green tea, and a fruit desert that feels like you’re eating clouds of happiness. This is one of the many reasons I really like Japan.

Besides the last picture, the quality isn’t bad for a 2 megapixel camera phone.

  1. I usually buy sushi when it goes on sale; usually around 6-7 in the evening at the supermarkets. Sometimes they can be up to 75% off!
Other times I enjoy going to the “100 yen per sushi” restaurants.

  2. Jyankee – Yeah it was great. I can’t believe it took you so long! I know it’s not for everybody, and since you’re in Japan I’m glad you’re starting to like it.

Yoshihiro – Yeah I know what you mean. When it’s on sale it’s a great deal. I’ve never been to the 100 yen sushi restaurants, but I’ve been to moving sushi where things range from 100-500 yen.

Emily – Do it! Get your ticket now!

Matt – Definitely a great deal. There’s a fish market that opens around 4 am near the port. I want to check it out sometime, but I’m not sure if it’s open to the public.

  3. Jon – Somewhere downtown. I’m not sure if I can find it again because things seem to be a cluster of stuff with restaurants next to restaurants on top of restaurants.

Tornadoes28 – AWESOME! Everything was fresh! It’s times like this where I never thought raw fish could taste this good.

  4. I am curous, do you know what the types of fish are on the tray (from the upper left across)? I know here in the states if we order a mixed sushi plate we get that red and pink kind (at the upper left corner of yor upicture) but for the life of me I don’t know what type of fish they are!
