Why is Japan awesome? There are many reasons and here’s another one to add to the list. Already sliced butter! Who thinks of this stuff, seriously? They should give it it’s own name. I’d name it Awesome Butter. Pre-sliced butter has changed my life.

Aww, that’s no good, the slices aren’t individually wrapped! Far below expected Japanese standards!
Haha, but individually wrapped pieces of butter are so inconvenient so in the end we’re all winners with this butter. It should be called Winner Butter Brand. I think I’ll trademark that.
i was doing research for my int’l business class and stumbled on your breakfast blog…
but then I saw “Japan has awesome butter” and couldn’t resist clicking…. because well, i love me some butter…
I’m going to see if the local Japanese market here in Cali has “awesome butter”
Thanks~
PS: butta makes it betta
Sarah - Thanks for commenting! Good luck with your butter search.
Actually, restaurants buy individually wrapped “pats” of butter so you can butter your toast as you see fit. Well, in Pennsylvania, anyway.
salitine - True, but then you have to unwrap each slice of butter. What if they start to melt? What if you have your friends over for some hotcakes? What if all you have is sliced butter but a recipe calls for 1/2 cup? That’s why I like this individually sliced, but not individually wrapped, butter.
