Cold noodles are awesome. You take them out of the cold water, dip it in the sauce, and enjoy. Add perfectly boiled egg, fruit, and vegetables, and you’ve got an energizing meal! I’d say cold noodles are in the top 10 of my favorite Japanese foods.

Ha ha…you seem VERY Japanese. I usually don’t like eating / drinking cold stuff..hence even in summer my coffee is hot! However, cold noodles “somen” really do hit the spot on a hot summer’s day.
They are great for the summer. But now I am ready for the hot soba for winter.
JYankee – Thanks… I think? Haha! Have you ever tried the cold noodles warm? Not so tasty.
Tornadoes28 – I’ve eaten soba a few times. I can manage it about once a year. It reminds of shoe laces when I’m eating a soba dish.
heh, my girlfriend is a japanese citizen and she often makes somen on summer nights. Add in a cold Sapporo and you have yourself a great summer evening. lol.
Where is the green tea? or sake?
homeyp1221 – Sounds great!
Yoshihiro – I went with some ice cold mugicha. It was a great match.
I hate cold noodles, yuck. It’s pretty much like eating raw fish ewww. But i love the presentation, very beautiful! Who did that ?
Kelly – Thanks! My wife made the lunch.
