Best bar closing time… EVER!

This closing time is can be either awesome, or trouble… but if you live outside of the city and miss your midnight train from Hakata, it could be a great place to hang out until the trains start running again at 6am… if you can stay awake.

Japan bar closing time

If you’re the only customer left, the staff will probably stay until you leave! (I’ve seen it happen before)

    • Missing the train is the worst if you live far away. Having to go home at 11:15pm vs staying out late and paying 2500-4000 Yen for a taxi vs staying out until 6am for the first train is a pretty tough decision.

    • You could walk! I bet you’d get from Tenjin to Hakata in about 30 minutes? Unless you meant the house is ‘some minutes away’ by train. Ouch!

  1. or maybe they mean that if you’re the only customer they leave you there on your own and you can close the bar yourself… which is nice too :)

  2. Nice! I used to go to a place in my town where I would always turn up early, the master eventually gave me his number and just got me to call it when I wanted him to open up. Same sort of deal with closing time!
