Attack of the Androids!

Android robots like these freak me out. It’s a big step into the future of robotics, but they are starting to look like more and more real. These have cameras installed in their retinas so they can look at people walking by. They move a little (mostly or all in the face?), they talk, and who knows what the next step will be. Just be prepared for the future android invasion!

Mix these guys with the Honda Asimo robot and you’ve got some crazy functionality! (Or a step towards a real Terminator?)

And check out this crazy stuff… you can kiss a TV and the image reacts to you.

  1. My comment’s off-topic, but what do Japanese think of foreigners (“Gaijin”)? I’ve heard that the only types of people who give foreigners trouble are the older generation and the extreme right-wing people. The younger generations supposedly love American/European culture as much as we love their culture. Again, I know this is off-topic, but I’ve always wondered this. I hope to live in Kyoto or Osaka some day.

  2. The interactive postive is pretty cool. The technology seems pretty simple. I’m wondering why they hadn’t made it seem a bit more realistic with animated reactions. They form this into an iPad app, but really. is that the best they could do with this very interesting idea? How about some sort of Shibuya area advertisement?!

    • I’ve seen visions and dreams become reality, then with that comes improvement. Maybe they’re improving before they market things or maybe they just didn’t think of other scenarios yet.
